Xavier Luri, director of the Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the University of Barcelona (ICCUB) will impart, along Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón (University of la Rioja), Helena González (director of Big Van Ciencia), Oriol Marimon (member of Big Van Ciencia) and Diego Herranz (Institute of Physics of Cantabria) the course “Science that connects” in the frame of the Juliols UB 2021.
This initiative offers 37 courses to choose among different areas in this year’s edition, from the arts and humanities, social sciences, to natural sciences and medicine. This space presents an opportunity in which the university opens its doors to society to offer the possibility to enrich one’s knowledge.
The course will be delivered from July 5 to July 9 from 16 to 20:30h (20 hours total), in spanish and it will have an online format. Its main goal is to offer the necessary tools to create a science video that can be of interest to a certain YouTube audience.
PROGRAMME
1. Content type on YouTube
2. Audience reading. How to approach different audiences?
3. Tools to define our personal brand and to make discourse creation easier
4. Responsible communication in front of great social challenges
5. Science-pop
6. Video recording and editing
Therefore, the participants of the course will learn how to address the script of the video, work on on-camera skills and reflect upon what contents are labelled as «catchy» and about the creation of their own personal brand. Furthermore, they will analyze several editing programmes for the creation of YouTube videos, so the formation offered is utterly comprehensive.
The registrations are open until June 29. You can find the registration link and more information about the course here.
