Quantum technologies have come into our lives and are here to stay. The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is taking the first steps to build southern Europe’s first quantum computer.

In this talk, Alba Cervera Lierta, researcher in the BSC’s QUANTIC group and PhD student in the Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the University of Barcelona, will be explaining the difference between “traditional” and quantum computing, and the calculations that a quantum computer could make. Then, Pol Forn Díaz, QUANTIC’s lead researcher, will explain the technologies they are working on and how a device of this kind really works.

With the collaboration of: Barcelona Supercomputing Centre
