The Institute of Cosmos Sciences researcher Bruno Julià will give a talk about Quantum Cold next Monday July 26 at the Science Enthusiasts Association Sopa de Partículas at the Guinardó Community Center.
As Dr. Julià explains, «We will visit the history of the concept cold and our hability to cool down objects and materials. This will be the main theme along which we will arrive to near absolute zero temperatures. At this point, Quantum Mechanics starts playing a crucial role, giving birth to new states of matter such as Bose-Einstein condensates and to properties unknow in the classical world as uperconductivity or superfluidity». If you are curious about the mysterious properties of ultracold matter, don't miss this conference!
