RESUM:

The next 25th of June starts the 13th edition of the Strong and ElectroWeak Matter Conference. This year it will be held in the Cosmocaixa centre in Barcelona. Joan Soto and Jorge Casalderrey-Solana, ICCUB members, participate in the organisation of this well-known Physics event that takes place every two years in a diferent city all over the world.

The conference lasts for four days (from the 25th to the 29th). Its focus is the theory of the Standard Model and beyond at finite temperature and density and in and out of equilibrium, including applications to cosmology, astrophysics and relativistic heavy-ion collision experiments.

One of the most remarkable lecturers of this year’s edition will be Prof. Barry C. Barish, Nobel Laureate 2017. Prof. Barish will give an outreach talk the 26th of June about gravitational waves with his personal implication on this historical episode of Physics.
