Outreach Material
Dissemination book of quantum mechanics.
20 scientists, almost all doctors and active researchers in different areas of knowledge: mathematics, chemistry, quantum physics, biology, neuroscience, telecommunications, genetics ... that are dedicated to the dissemination of the latest advances in science in the funniest way possible: monologues, workshops, courses, activities for children, monographs, videos, and much more!
The researcher at the Institute of Cosmos Sciences, Xavier Luri, is a member of the Big Van team
Jordi Miralda, ICREA- ICCUB researcher and Xavier Luri, ICCUB director, talk about the new results of the research on the Hubble Constant made by the Nobel laureate Riess' team using Gaia's and Hubble's data.
Today, Tuesday 29th of May, Xavier Luri has taken office as Director of the Institute of Cosmos Sciences (ICCUB). At the same time, Antonio Solanas took office as the Dean of the Faculty of Psycology and Santiago Sánchez as Director of the Barcelona Economic Analysis Team (BEAT).
The ADMIRA Project (Activities with Medipix Detectors to Investigate Radiation in the classroom) aims to create a network of schools around the use of Timepix Detectors designed at CERN. The objective is to bring the Institutes closer to the research done in Universities and Research Centers. A group of schools that have participated in a selection process will use these devices in their classrooms. Teacher training activities will be open to any institute teacher who is interested (with the aim of expanding the network in future editions).
On this website you can consult the objectives of the ADMIRA project, the ways of participating and the activities offered for teachers and students. You can also find the didactic orientations, skills and key contents that are intended to work.
Simulations of Quantum Mechanics starts as a collaborative project involving undergraduate students, professors and researchers. It is based on the development of computer programs, created by students under the supervision of professors, which allow introducing basic concepts of quantum mechanics and the physics of ultracold gases to the students of baccalaureate and degree. The programs carried out aim to be rigorous from the scientific point of view, solving the relevant equations in a precise manner, combined with a graphical interface that allows users to interact with them in a pleasant way.
OBJECTIVES:
Encourage cooperation among seniors of degree
Bring seniors in the research that takes place in our department
Produce a useful tool for the dissemination of science at the high school level
